Baby's First Pears - Homemade Baby Food

We're following the 4-day wait rule (courtesy of for introducing new foods to baby and it's time to try another new food! Pears! If the pears are very ripe there is no need to cook them; just peel and mash for baby.  Also, once baby is ready for finger foods diced fresh pears are perfect.

Slice pears in half, scoop out core with a spoon. Fill baking pan with about 1 inch water and bake pears, cut side up at 350'F for about 25-30 minutes until tender and slightly browned.

Allow to cool, then spoon out insides, discarding the skins. Puree in food processor until smooth. Pears are quite watery on their own so no additional water is needed. Freeze in ice cube trays. I used 7 medium pears and they made ~36 cubes!
