Baby's First Zucchini Squash - Homemade Baby Food

Zucchini is a great vegetable for babies 6-8 months old. We have so many zucchini in our garden, this was a huge cost savings over store bought, and much tastier too!

Start by peeling zucchini, you can leave the skin on for older babies
Chop and place in a steamer basket over about 2 inches of water. Bring water to a simmer, cover with tight fitting lid and steam for about 8-10 minutes or until knife tender and cooked through.

Puree cooked squash in food processor, adding 1/2 cup water if needed, until desired smooth consistency.

Freeze puree in ice cube trays for easy storage and portioning!  This recipe works for any soft skinned squash, try it with yellow summer squash too, or even mix the two together!
